SGS Banco Popolare achieves platform modernization through application migration onto Windows 2008 R2 and SQL server
Top Italian bank, part of a major international banking group, embarks on a major program to migrate mainframe hosted applications onto Windows 2008 R2 and SQL, whereby legacy CICS and HTWC's XCICS are seamlessly synchronized to enable carefully scaled rollout.
Executive Summary
As part of a major MIPS reduction and hence operational savings' plan, Banco Popolare's objective is to migrate its mission critical banking applications from the Mainframe onto the more cost effective Windows environment, through the integration of the HTWC middleware, XFRAME and employing the migration services of HTWC and Microsoft Systems' Integrator, Add Value.
The first of a series of projects was completed within 5 months. Banco Popolare achieved a very attractive ROI with a short payback period, whilst greatly improving their technical performance and agility.
