Data migration

Data coming from mainframe must be properly converted from EBCDIC encoding to ASCII one. Mainframe data may be grouped in the following categories:

•	VSAM files

•	Sequential files

•

DB2 data

•	IMS/DB - DL/I data

XCONV provides the necessary tools to convert VSAM and sequential files as well as DB2 data. For IMS/DB - DL/I data conversion please refer to the H2R manual.
