Nice, May 12, 2010

HTWC ™s partner TELEBIG, a leading provider of legacy migration (Legacy), is proud to announce the highly successful migration of all legacy applications of the City of Montpellier (8th largest city in France) on April 30, 2010, from the IBM z/OS platform to a Microsoft Windows Server and SQL Server infrastructure through the use of the HTWC XFRAME suite. ¨ ¨The applications of the City of Montpellier have been developed over several decades around the IBM Mainframe, COBOL with DB2 database. ¨
The objective was to save costs by disengaging mainframe platform, whilst preserving the business assets inherent in current applications.

In August 2009 , the City council launched in a public tender to re-host the IBM DB2 database and batch COBOL applications, JCLs, Scheduler, Print manager, onto towards an open platform. ¨ ¨HTWC ™s partner for the French market, TELEBIG was chosen ahead of all competitors because of their proven pedigree in terms of quality in the product, project and services.
The project scope included: ¨ ¨- Migration of the DB2 database to SQL Server , supporting transparently existing ASP.NET programs ¨- Migration of COBOL programs, JCLs (into WSH), using the HTWC's XFRAME Rehosting solution, represented in France by TELEBIG ¨- Implementation of IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) on Windows, replacing the old mainframe version (quite different) and its integration ¨- Replacement of Beta Systems 93 Systems by Beta 93 UX, running on a Linux server. ¨- Transfer of knowledge to the development team and production team

Frederic Fayolle, CIO of the City Council: " ¨ ¨Telebig proposed a combined solution independent of the target, both for the database and server, they have understood the interest in streamlining our infrastructure around the Windows Server platform and SQL Server database".
